The AVCJ Private Equity & Venture Forum Taiwan 2008 will examine how private equity investors can navigate the unique business, regulatory and political environments in Taiwan.
It will also discuss how local corporations can best maximise a relationship with private equity. Other topics will also be discussed at Taiwan's newest and only international private equity and networking event.
Date:
05-May-2008 to 07-May-2008
Conference Organiser:
AVCJ Group Ltd
Taiwanese private equity has soared to record heights in the past two years. According to AVCJ Research, ROC investments reached US$4 billion in 2006 and touched $4.9 billion in 2007, a substantial jump from the quiet market that mustered only $3 billion in the five years combined prior to 2006.
Buyouts, previously few and far between, are the main reason for the spectacular growth, while opportunities in growth capital and venture remain very attractive.
Like all emerging buyout markets, a number of matters come into question. Among those are the availability of viable investment opportunities and regulatory issues, including the Taiwanese government's attitude towards foreign investors who may consider entities listed in the local bourse.
