The 8th annual World Poultry conference, supported by the British Poultry Council and a.v.e.c., takes place in a year of uncertainty. Our panel of expert speakers will provide a valuable opinion into the major poultry meat markets internationally and analyze what lies ahead for the industry in 2009 and beyond.
Import demand in the EU will increase in the coming year, with shipments from Thailand and Brazil set to rise. Hear from Guy Odri, CEO of Doux Group Worldwide, who will provide a processor's perspective on the EU poultry market and the issues and opportunities facing producers. On the supply side, Vanus Taisitphongse of Thai poultry giant Betagro Group, will provide the outlook for Thai poultry production and exports to the EU and other major markets. In Brazil demand growth prospects stay positive, despite fears of decreasing production and a fall in exports, but businesses will need careful management in the coming months to sustain their competitive position. Christian Lohbauer, International Relations Manager at the Brazilian Chicken Producers and Exporters Association (ABEF), will give the overview for production and prices in Brazil and talk about the measures being taken by Brazilian producers and exporters to confront the issues of 2009.
